Tuungane2+Impact Evaluation Program in Eastern DRC

Client: The World Bank Group

The main intervention in Tuungane2+ aimed to strengthen ties between user committee members and service providers and this Impact Evaluation study seeks to add to the growing body of evidence on how to improve policy decisions of Community Driven Development (CDD) programs. An RCT was designed as part of the evaluation of Tunngane2+ with randomly selected communities receiving a set of activities involving users and another random group of communities with additional activities involving line ministries in decision-making about service provision. We collected household, facility and community data in South Kivu, Haut Katanga and Tanganyika provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo a range of data (household, village chief, service provider/government staff, community level, behavioral) to about 3400 households spread in 339 villages across these provinces.
