National Household Survey in Haiti (Right to Education Project)

Client: The World Bank Group

We collected a nationally representative sample of households in Haiti in order to accurately measure school access and expenditures and to capture household socio-economic status with a focus on the poor. This data was collected to help establish the linkages between education and poverty and provide policy relevant recommendations to the Ministry of Education (MENFP). An exhaustive listing of households in 110 cluster zones spread across the 10 Départements of Haiti was implemented leading to close to 10,000 households enumerated. It was followed by a detailed household questionnaire designed and administered to about 1200 households. The listing involves mapping the cluster zones on tablets and delineating the boundaries of each cluster during the enumeration exercise.
