Estimation of the Willingness to Pay for Quality Electricity Services in Senegal

Client: Millennium Challenge Corporation

We designed and collected a nationally representative survey of enterprises (formal and informal) and a nationally representative sample of households in Senegal in order to estimate the willingness of consumers and enterprises to pay for electricity. An exhaustive listing of households in 150 clusters randomly selected from the ANSD database was carried giving about 12,000 households enumerated and was followed by a baseline data collection of about 4000 households and 2000 firms. We used apps to delineate the boundaries of the clusters and geo-locate households as well as Surveycto to collect electronic data.
